Correctional Homes under the Department of Correctional Administration, West
Bengal
Applications are
invited from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Warder /Female Warder for
Correctional Homes under the Department of Correctional Administration, West
Bengal from candidates between 18 and 27 years of age as on 01.01.2015
(relaxable for SC/ST/OBC candidates of West Bengal only and Ex-serviceman)
having passed Madhyamik or equivalent examination.

Physical Efficiency Test (Pet) :-
Candidates who will qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET. i) For
Warder: - Long Distance Run – 1600 mtr. (Qualifying time is 06 minutes 30
seconds). ii) For Female Warder: - Long Distance Run – 400 mtr. (Qualifying
time is 02 minutes). Note: - Timing of an individual runner shall be taken with
the help of Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) technology. One chance
will be given for Physical Efficiency Test. The venues for PMT & PET will
be decided by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, in due course.
Written Examination: - Full
Marks – 90 A limited number of candidates on the basis of the qualifying the
Physical Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test will be called for to
appear in the Written Examination to be conducted by the West Bengal Police
Recruitment Board. The Written Examination will have 60 Multiple Choice (Four
choices) Objective Type Questions (MCQs) carrying 1.5 marks each. The duration
of the examination will be One hour. Question in the Written Examination shall
be in the following subjects:
General Awareness and General Knowledge - 30 Marks (20
questions)
English - 24 Marks (16 questions)
Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) - 15 Marks (10
questions)
Reasoning - 12 Marks (8 questions)
Computer Literacy - 9 Marks (6 questions)
Interview: Full Marks – 10 A limited
number of candidates on the basis of the result of the Written Examination will
be called for Interview. In the Interview, the general awareness and
suitability of the candidate for public service will be tested. The Interview
Board will also test the acquisition of Computer Literacy. The Interview will
be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board through Special
Recruitment Boards. On the basis of the marks obtained in the Written
Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected
candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

of both the on-line and off-line submission of applications. vOn-line
submission: - Candidates will be able to submit application using the website
policewb.gov.in by filling up their information including scanned photograph
and signature.
Candidates must visit the websites of West Bengal Police
(policewb.gov.in) or Department of Correctional Administration
(wbcorrectionalservices.gov.in) to ascertain the eligibility criteria, method
of selection, scheme of examination, procedure for submission of application
form and other terms & conditions. The last date of receipt of application
is 27/03/2015 (upto 05:00 PM).
Important Date: Willing candidates may submit
their application form through on-line /off-line from 25/02/2015 to 27/03/2015.
